Leonie Cormack, a local Kaikoura artist and producer of a creative Kaikoura lip balm displays and sells her artwork with Handmade Kaikoura.
Leonie first started doing art at school, however for years had not painted any- thing and on moving back to Kaikoura got the passion back, and loves using the landscape for her creativity.
Leonie enjoys doing abstract getting her inspiration from our evening skies and beautiful sea. She has also started to branch out into other areas starting with creative Kaikoura lip balm.

Jacqui Marsden, Kereru Craft – Kaikoura Ever since she was a child, Jacqui has loved making things and experimenting with different kinds of art and crafts. Starting a small business laser cutting with her partner, Rion Arona in 2007 has meant a whole new set of skills have evolved over the years.
Combining crafts with laser cutting, Jacqui has developed popular ranges of earrings, brooches, wall art and giftware. She is currently experimenting with glass fusing and pottery.

Le La Lau & Co inspired from the names of our three daughters produce a range of play-dough, keyrings, scrunchies and bookmarks.
The Chambers family are a local whanāu home educating our eight, six and two year old. Their eldest daughters idea to make and sell items at a roadside stall, evolved into making and selling a range of product and Hayley’s Beach Craft through Handmade Kaikoura. This enterprise enables their children the opportunity to learn and practice key competencies needed to live today and in the future.

Down by the Sea-Craft and Creations by Cathie Cowell is a Christchurch based business that makes special gifts and one off items. Many new products are from recycled materials and fit in well with Cathie’s textile sustainability goal. Items include children and adults wear and seaside creatures like seals and whales mostly made with NZ vintage blankets. From Jackie Hancock’s glass studio in North Canterbury Aroha Glass is created. Fused Glass from the studio inspired by life, our beautiful Aotearoa – New Zealand but with a few quirky/ retro/geeky bits thrown in!
Aroha glass creates beautiful jewellery, bowls, coasters, memorial pieces, art works and one off commissions made out of glass, which is cut., melted in the kiln and shaped, all from Jackie’s garage studio in North Canterbury. Alyth Crawford, a Kaikoura local, is a mixed media artist using olde crystal and some depression glass of mixed color saturation chroma and hue. Alyth creates an array of handcrafted, individually designed glass and crystal ware with a range of eclectic styles.

Rachel Baxter is a Kaikoura local and the business owner of Handmade Kaikoura. Hi I’m Rachel and I’m absolutely sure I’m addicted to crafts!
I started out making children’s clothing and crochet toys and selling from home to Kaikoura locals. Then in December 2020 I opened a wee shop with my products and selling on behalf of just a few others, now I have over 40 other crafters selling their NZ made goodies. Amanda Paul, an Ashburton local, manufactures a luxurious range of soaps and candles using the finest pure ingredients creating uplifting, nurturing scents under her brand Tiny Farm. Janet Nikora a Kaikoura local and runs a graphic and website design business “Studio Blue Creative” from her home office. Janet has always loved art and crafts, and enjoys using different techniques and materials, especially recycled finds. A lot of Janet’s art is inspired by nature and the ocean. Currently Handmade Kaikoura have a range of cards, limited edition prints, one-off artworks and Macramé wall hangings for sale.

Kaiapoi based artist Louise Tane creates at her studio ‘Simply Stone’ unique framed pictures using stone and driftwood collected from Canterbury beaches. Given the nature of the materials used, each picture is unique and differs slightly to the next. Stones and driftwood are used in their complete natural form. Trudy McConchie a Kaikoura local loves the gardens and grows a large range of flowers, which she drys for the bouquets and wreaths which are on display for sale at Handmade Kaikoura. Trudy also grows fruits and vegetables from which she produces all her jams and sauces, again on display and for sale at Handmade Kaikoura. Also available are her crochet scrubbies for removing make up and knitted dish cloths.
